Richard Russell, an ASCAP Plus winner, has had his music performed internationally and at prominent venues in New York. Highlights include a performance on September 11, 2002, of his flute solo Remembrances at Merkin Concert Hall, and a performance of Design for Lightning by trombonist Haim Avitsur in Israel. His most recent international performance was his Three Songs of Carl Sandburg performed in Bulgaria during the summer of 2006. His compositions have been performed at CAMI Hall, the Ethical Culture Society, BMI Workshops, Saint Peters at the Citicorp Building, and numerous times at Mannes College of Music. One of his pop tunes was featured on local radio in St. Martin, and he has gigged around New York as a pianist.
